It fits the Valhal Outdoor 25cm skillets, trapping heat and moisture for braising, baking bread or melting cheese over the coals. Flip it over and the grill pattern on the inside takes on steaks and vegetables, while the feet keep it steady over the coals without smothering them.

Why it earns its place

Fits 25cm skillets – the Valhal Outdoor 25cm skillets with two handles or a long handle

Grill pattern inside – turn it over and it is a grill skillet for steaks and veg

Feet on top – stands steady over coals without smothering them

2.5kg cast iron – traps heat and moisture for braising, baking and melting

Two tools in one – a lid and a pan for the price of one piece of cast iron

Specifications

Brand: Valhal Outdoor

Model: VH.LID25

Material: Pre-seasoned cast iron, no enamel

Fits: Valhal Outdoor 25cm skillets (VH25H and VH25)

Dimensions: 27 x 25 x 6cm (L x W x H)

Weight: 2.5kg

Extra: Feet on the lid; grill pattern inside

Heat sources: Open fire, braai coals, charcoal BBQ, kamado and oven

Designed in: the Netherlands

Made in: China (Asia)

FAQ

Which pans does it fit?
The Valhal Outdoor 25cm skillets: the two-handled VH25H and the long-handled VH25.

Can I grill on it?
Yes. Every piece is designed in the Netherlands and cast in China (Asia) in Valhal's own moulds, to its own iron formula and weight specifications. The Viking head cast into the base is the brand's mark. dreemFIRE curates Valhal Outdoor in South Africa because it is honest, heavy-duty cast iron that earns its place on the fire.

Care

Pre-seasoned with vegetable oil, so it is ready to use. Heat it up well before the first cook. After cooking, clean with hot water and a brush or chain-mail scrubber, dry it completely over low heat and wipe on a thin layer of cooking oil. Not dishwasher safe. Avoid plunging hot cast iron into cold water. The natural non-stick layer builds up with every cook, so the more you use it, the better it gets. Look after it and it will last a lifetime.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0711/0000/6652/files/vh-lid25-lid-and-grill-skillet-25cm-4927-en-G.jpg?v=1790597977
