For centuries, fires have brought people together, and they form part of most cultures’ favorite cuisine offerings.
dreemFIRE - how it happened...
Our product range happened by accident... but it has purpose! From young beginnings, to some social media sharing, we are now launching a range of over-the-fire tools that guarantee: Quality - Design - Usability - Purpose.
From a young age I (Leonard) have had a passion for preparing food over fires. Growing up, we moved all over South Africa where typical braais were the norm. We then moved to Uruguay where I became an ‘asado’ master.
In Uruguay I learnt that the best way to prepare meat over a fire is slowly, and to always have enough wood for a big enough fire! Here we braaied anything, from chicken to liver, to the perfect steaks. After school I traveled South America and further experienced all the different arts of fire cooking.
In 2010, I moved to Dreem Fruit family farm, where I am currently based and still enjoy over the fire cooking. I have traveled many countries over the years, from China to Turkey to Namibia, and a common thread has always been over-the-fire-cooking.
In 2016 I started an Instagram and Face Book page dedicated to all my over-the-fire -cooking adventures. In all of my posts I was present, either as the master braaier or as the guest. Through all these braais, which have been in many different places and circumstances, I have always observed that certain braai tools can determine the difference between a successful and an average braai. These observations have inspired me to launch the Dreem Fire range.

We are based on Dreem Fruit farm which is a commercial fruit and wine grape farm in the Breerivier, South Africa. You can visit our showroom by appointment.
