THE FRENCH ARMY'S FIELD KNIFE. NO CORKSCREW. NO COMPROMISE.
The TB Outdoor C.A.C.® S200 is the corkscrew-free version of the C.A.C.®. The C.A.C.® (Combat Assistance Campagne) is the folding knife the French Army selected as its field knife, and it has been in service with French forces since 2018. TB Outdoor developed it in Thiers, France, with Philippe Perotti, a former French special forces operator, to one brief: a tough, fully ambidextrous knife you can open and close with one hand.
Without the corkscrew, the S200 has a slimmer, cleaner handle and fewer places for sand and mud to collect. It's a serious do-everything folder for camp and braai prep, 4x4 and vehicle kits, hunting trips, hiking and everyday carry.
Why it earns its place
-
Nitrox® stainless blade. A nitrogen-enriched steel (about 16% chromium, 0.35% carbon) that resists rust in wet, humid and coastal conditions and is easy to resharpen in the field. A PVD coating adds wear resistance and cuts glare.
-
Movable-axis lock. Locks the blade solidly open and releases from either side. Thumb studs on both sides and a reversible clip make it truly ambidextrous.
-
Built-in strap cutter. A curved, replaceable blade in the handle cuts seatbelts, webbing and rope without opening the knife.
-
Glass breaker. A tungsten carbide tip in the pommel for vehicle emergencies.
-
Your choice of edge. Plain for clean, precise cuts, or combination (plain + serrated) for rope, webbing and fibrous material.
-
Your choice of handle. PA6 FV is a glass-fibre reinforced polymer that is light and absorbs shock. G10 is a fibreglass-epoxy composite machined from solid, with a textured grip that stays stable in heat and moisture.

Care
Nitrox® resists corrosion, but in humid or salty conditions wipe the blade dry and add a drop of light oil to the metal parts and pivot now and then. Keep the lock area free of sand and grit. Sharpen at the factory angle; on serrated sections, sharpen only the flat side. Never sharpen on an electric grinder. If you swap the clip to the other side, a little thread-lock on the screws keeps them tight.
FAQ
What's the difference between the C.A.C.® S200 and the C.A.C.® with corkscrew?
Same blade, lock, strap cutter and glass breaker. The S200 drops the corkscrew for a slimmer handle and a cleaner, more tactical profile. Choose the corkscrew version if you want a campsite all-rounder that also opens wine.
Should I choose PA6 or G10?
PA6 FV is lighter on the wallet, very tough and shock-absorbing. G10 is machined from solid, feels more premium and gives a firmer, textured grip, especially with wet hands.
Plain or serrated edge?
Plain is easiest to sharpen and best for food and clean cuts. The combination edge adds serrations near the handle for rope, straps and fibrous material.
Is Nitrox® easy to sharpen?
Yes. At around 55 HRC it takes an edge quickly with a basic stone or diamond sharpener, which makes it ideal in the field.
