The TB Outdoor C.A.C.® with corkscrew is the full-feature version of France's military field knife. The C.A.C.® (Combat Assistance Campagne) is the folding knife the French Army selected as its field knife, and it has been in service with French forces since 2018. TB Outdoor developed it in Thiers, France, with Philippe Perotti, a former French special forces operator, to one brief: a tough, fully ambidextrous knife you can open and close with one hand.

Add a corkscrew to the strap cutter and glass breaker and you have the ultimate campsite and braai companion: it preps the food, cuts the rope, and opens the bottle when the coals are ready.

Why it earns its place

• Nitrox® stainless blade. A nitrogen-enriched steel (about 16% chromium, 0.35% carbon) that resists rust in wet, humid and coastal conditions and is easy to resharpen in the field. A PVD coating adds wear resistance and cuts glare.
• Combination edge. Plain section for food and clean cuts, serrated section for rope and webbing.
• Movable-axis lock. Locks the blade solidly open and releases from either side. Thumb studs on both sides and a reversible clip make it truly ambidextrous.
• Built-in strap cutter. A curved, replaceable blade in the handle cuts seatbelts, webbing and rope without opening the knife.
• Glass breaker. A tungsten carbide tip in the pommel for vehicle emergencies.
• Corkscrew. Built into the handle.
• Textured PA6 FV handle. Glass-fibre reinforced polymer with a textured finish for grip with wet or greasy hands. Choose Red or Army Green.

Care

Nitrox® resists corrosion, but in humid or salty conditions wipe the blade dry and add a drop of light oil to the metal parts and pivot now and then. Keep the lock area free of sand and grit. Sharpen at the factory angle; on serrated sections, sharpen only the flat side. Never sharpen on an electric grinder. If you swap the clip to the other side, a little thread-lock on the screws keeps them tight.

FAQ

C.A.C.® with corkscrew or C.A.C.® S200?

Both share the same blade, lock, strap cutter and glass breaker. Choose this version for camping and braais where a corkscrew earns its keep; choose the S200 for a slimmer, more tactical carry.

Is it ambidextrous?

Yes. The lock releases from either side, there are thumb studs on both sides and the clip is reversible.

What colours are available?

Red and Army Green, both with a textured PA6 FV handle.

Is it made in France?

Yes, by TB Outdoor in Thiers, France's knife-making capital.
